Preparing for February 2027 Compliance

NSPIRE-V is the next major evolution in HUD inspections—and agencies that are not prepared will face increased compliance risk, operational challenges, and failed inspections.

This 2-day virtual training is designed to give housing professionals a clear, practical understanding of how NSPIRE-V inspections actually work and what it takes to successfully implement the new requirements ahead of the February 2027 rollout.

Led by a HUD-certified inspector with nearly two decades of field experience, this training goes beyond simply reviewing standards. Participants will learn how inspections are conducted in real-world scenarios, how deficiencies are identified and classified, and how pass/fail outcomes are determined.

What You’ll Learn

  • How NSPIRE-V inspections are conducted from start to finish
  • Key differences between HQS, NSPIRE, and NSPIRE-V
  • How to identify and classify Life-Threatening, Severe, Moderate, and Low deficiencies
  • How scoring, timelines, and compliance requirements impact outcomes
  • Commonly cited deficiencies and high-risk areas
  • How to manage re-inspections, no-shows, and tenant-related scenarios
  • Practical strategies to prepare properties and teams for inspection success

Why This Training Matters

NSPIRE-V is not just a policy update—it changes how inspections are scheduled, performed, and enforced.

Without a clear understanding of:

  • Inspection workflow
  • Deficiency severity and correction timelines
  • Pass/fail determination

…agencies risk falling behind, failing inspections, and increasing compliance exposure.

This training ensures your team is prepared to implement NSPIRE-V with confidence and consistency.

Real-World Approach

This training is built on actual inspection experience—not just theory.

You’ll gain insight into how inspectors:

  • Evaluate properties in the field
  • Identify deficiencies quickly
  • Apply severity levels correctly
  • Document and determine inspection outcomes

Who Should Attend

  • Housing Authority Staff (HCV / PBV)
  • Property Managers & Owners
  • Inspectors & Inspection Coordinators
  • Compliance & Quality Control Teams
  • Maintenance Supervisors
